As reported the funny man was critically injured in a fatal six-car accident, after his limo bus was rear-ended by a semi on the New Jersey Turnpike in the early morning of June 7th.  The 45-year-old Morgan suffered broken ribs, a broken nose and a broken leg, while his friend and fellow comedian James McNair was killed.  Also critically injured was fellow comedian Ardie Fuqua and so far there's no update on his condition.  After spending nine days in critical condition Morgan was upgraded to fair condition, as was his assistant Jeff Millea.

The Walmart truck driver who caused the crash, 35-year Kevin Rope, had apparently fell asleep at the wheel.  A preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board revealed the trucker was traveling 20 mph over the speed limit when it struck the back of Morgans limo bus.  In a criminal complaint, police said Roper had been awake for more than 24 hours at the time of the crash.

Meanwhile according to Morgans publicist, Lewis Kay, the star has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab center, where he will stay for the next few weeks to recover.  "While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go," his rep said.  "He and [his fiancée] Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him."

As for the Walmart truck driver, he was charged with vehicular homicide and assault by auto.  He has since plead not guilty and is currently free on $50,000 bond.
