Today in Tha Wire here's some GOOD NEWS for a change! AllHipHop reports Houston rap superstar, Travis Scott, has donated $100,000 to a nonprofit organization The rapper whose real name is, Jacques Webster, donated the money to Workshop Houston to assist them in their initiative to help kids in his hometown. This is a unique youth development center that takes a hands-on approach to provide the vital resource needs to youth in the community they serve.

Thousands of kids attend the center every year and participate in everything from after-school and summer programs, tutoring, to creating in cool innovative studio-like classrooms like; the Beat Shop for music production, the Dance Shop for dance/theatre, to the Style Shop where kids can immerse themselves in fashion or graphic design, and much more. This place sounds like the bomb!

The $100K Travis' donated is gonna go a long way! A portion of the funds will be used to help Workshop kids competing in the cities annual drone racing competition, taking place this May at Space Center Houston. Some of the money will also go towards helping Style Shop students recreating former FLOTUS Michelle Obama's Milly Portrait Gown.

If that's not enough, Travis is on a career-high and wrapped 2018 at the top of the charts in the #1 spot with both his album Astroworld and his single "Sicko Mode" taking the #1 spot on the charts. Plus he'll be in Houston at the end of the month on January 25 when his Astroworld Festival Tour jumps back off.

Unfortunately, no tickets will be on sale for this event, because it sold out last year! Tickets flew out the door as soon as they were available, and ironically enough before the line-up was even announced. Now that's love. Big ups to Travis on helping the kids, and we wish him an even bigger 2019.
