Sprite launches it's 
According to reports limited-edition Sprite cans with images and lyrics by
J. Cole and
Missy Elliott are coming soon.

This isn't their first merry-go-round either.  In fact Sprite was the first mainstream brand to acknowledge the cultural impact of hip-hop in 1986, starting with pioneers like Kurtis Blow. Thirty years later Sprite continues to evolve it's role in Hip Hop, launching 16 limited edition package designs show casing lyrics from other rappers like Drake, Nas, Fat Joe and more.

The first edition of  “Obey Your Verse” launched in 1994 and over the years featured iconic rappers like A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, The Notorious B.I.G. Grandmaster Flash to Common just to name a few.  The soft drink giant said they selected artists because of their positive impact on the culture of Hip Hop.

The director of Sprite & Citrus Brands/Coca-Cola North America, Bobby Oliver, said of the campaign

“From the moment Sprite tapped into hip-hop culture 30 years ago with our ad featuring Kurtis Blow, the brand has strived to celebrate self-expression and provide artists with platforms to tell their most moving stories.”

He continued, “The Sprite Obey Your Verse Lyrical Collection is not only an acknowledgment of the genre’s best storytellers, but also a way of inspiring and empowering our fans to be true to themselves.”

So be on the lookout.  Sixteen inspirational verses from Drake, Nas, Biggie and images of ‘Pac, Cole and Missy will appear on multiple sized Sprite cans that'll include 12 and 16-ounce cans, as well as 20-ounce bottles.  Plus they can be purchased in 12, 20 and 24-packs of 12-ounce cans.
