It's official Luther Campbell is making a run for mayor of Florida's Miami-Dade County.  It's really not a surprise, as a matter fact he's made it no secret that he wants the job.  Luke rights a column for his local paper and has spelled out what he would like to accomplish if he gets the opportunity.

While filing to have his name placed on the May 24th special election ballot, the 50-year old rap icon spoke to a crowd on taking the job seriously, saying "My major hurdle is people taking  me seriously.  A lot of people think this is a joke.  I call it a banana republic and I'm serious about it.  You look at the commission and they make their own rules as they go, regardless of what the county attorney says, they make their own rules, just do what they want."

If Uncle Luke becomes mayor he plans on revitalizing the small business environment of his community.  He also wants to redevelop the area by stabilizing the neighborhoods by investing in beautifying the community among other things.
