Finally, Allhiphop.com is reporting that Malcolm X’s grandson, Malcolm Shabazz has died.  Apparently, family friend and mentor Terrie M Williams is who broke and confirmed the tragic news on her personal Twitter account yesterday.

Shabazz was arrested by Middletown law enforcements in February after requesting a travel visa to attend The Hollywoodism International Conference in Iran.  In late March, Shabazz released a statement revealing that he was being harassed by law enforcement, specifically “the F.B.I.’s Counter Terrorism Task Force Unit located in N.Y.”

Because of this, Mrs. Williams and Shabazz’s godmother, Ruth Clark established the Malcolm Shabazz Legal Defense Fund and helped raised the necessary funds to bail him out of jail.

“I mentored him and he did a lot of work with us in terms of speaking to young people, He was a very, very powerful brother.”  Our condolences to his family and friends.
