Join the City of Lake Charles in thanking our men and women in the United States Military for their sacrifice and hard work.  Mayor Randy Roach invites all area citizen to to participate at the Armed Forces Commission’s annual Veterans Day observance, Saturday November 7.

This is a free event and was originally going to take place at Veterans Memorial Park, but do to the weather it's been moved inside the Lake Charles Civic Center Colosseum, located at 900 Lakeshore Drive.  Everything gets underway at 10 a.m. with guest speaker, Brigadier General Timothy P. McGuire, Commanding General, JRTC and Fort Polk, LA.
Immediately following the ceremony, the public is invited to enjoy gumbo prepared by several different southwest Louisiana Veterans organizations.  Plus, the little ones will have plenty to do thanks to the City of Lake Charles Department of Recreation and Parks. There will be a Kid’s Fun Zone, games, face painting, balloons, fun jumps and much more.
