Today in Tha Wire in case you missed it, the VH1 Hip Hop Honors went down last night and it was an explosive show from start to finish!  Hip Hop iconic Fem-C's like Salt-N-Pepa, Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott and Lil Kim got some well deserved props during the all-star event.  First lets take a look at the fashion game and how it shaped Hip Hop through the era's from the 70's - 2016.

Lil Kimled Hip Hop fashion all by herself.  Through the years with the infamous album cover pose to her ever changing hair color and image.  The Queen B is still a boss!  Peep her tribute below with Dej Loaf, Lil Mama did their renditions of Kim’s “Crush On You.” Then Teyana Taylor killed it with "No Time" and "All About The Benjamin's."

Teyana killed it!  Omg that was hot!  Of course Salt- N- Pepa opened the doors for the ladies in Hip Hop 30 years ago.  Take a look at how they changed the face of the music movement in the video below. Plus peep the killer tribute the Hip Hop legends featuring Eve, Ashanti and KeKe Palmer!

You ain't part of Hip Hop if you don't know something about the Queen. Queen Latifah made history on so many levels from her always socially conscious lyrics, African dress to her sitcoms Living Single and Single Ladies, movies like Set it Off and Taxi, Cover Girl career to her soulful Jazz albums and the list goes on and on. She is truly a "Jack of All Trades" and her list of accomplishments are crazy! Peep her tribute and performances below.

An OM Goodness! Saving the best for last Ms. Supa Dupa Fly! Missy Elliott changed the game of Hip Hop. Her fashion, the crazy videos and the flow of her lyrics was electric and completely different from what anyone had heard till then. She brought an entirely new sound to Hip Hop AND R&B. That's right! Missy wrote and produced some of the biggest hits in R&B for the likes of not only Aaliyah, but Fantasia, Monica, Tweet and others. Below is a look at the Missy's phenomenal career.
