Today in Tha Wire, one day after Afeni Shakur dies  announced they are going to air a Mother's Day special this Sunday,  The special is fittingly called, Dear Mama, and of course Mrs. Shakur will be honored for her strength and unending love for her son, as well as her own heroism and humanitarian work.  That's not all.  VH1's GM, Amy Doyle, said the network is going to take it a step further adding,

“We are excited to shine the spotlight on the influential and inspiring women behind some of our favorite celebrities, their moms.  Our Dear Mama special event gives our famous friends the stage to salute and thank their moms with their own tributes full of surprises, laughter and love.”

That's exactly how it's gonna go down too!  Look for comedian/actor Anthony Anderson to host the event and live performances from Alicia KeysQueen Latifah, Jaden Smith, and more!

The special airs on VH1 this Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8 at 8 PM CT.

In other news Forbes Magazine recently announced their list of the 2016 cash kings of Hip Hop.  Not much has changed really. Sean “Diddy” Combs is still the front runner holding down the #1 spot earning $750 million, at #2 is  Andre “Dr. Dre” Young with $710 million, followed by Shawn “Jay Z” Carter who brings in $610 million a year, Bryan “Birdman” Williams takes in $110 million and new comer to the list is Aubrey "Drake" Graham rounds out The Forbes Five earning $60 million a year.

Oddly enough though, Drizzy doesn't make nowhere near what other Hip Hop artists like Master P for example.  Matter of fact P should in the #4 spot, cause he's reportedly worth an $350 million.  For that matter Eminem brings in $120 million, Snoop Dogg is right up there with Birdman bringing in $110 million, not to mention rap vet Ice Cube clears $100 million and so does Lil Wayne.  So I'm not sure how my man Drake got onto Forbes top  5 lists and none of them did.  But hey...I don't make the rules.

That's Tha Wire fam, for all things entertainment listen up twice a day, every weekday at 12:50 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. on The Peoples Station 107 Jamz.
