In other news, Miami’s son Pitbull is giving back to his community in a big way.  Tomorrow, Friday (Aug. 16), the rapper will open a new school called  SLAM.  The Sports Leadership and Management school, in his hometown of Little Havana — a Cuban community in Miami.  This special school will focus on prepping athletic students for careers in the sports field.  Best of all, it’s not gonna cost the city to run as it will be funded by a non-profit organization.

The 32-year-old artist sat down with the  Washington Post and talked about his strong belief in education and how his mother instilled it in him saying, "My mother always told me two of the most dangerous diseases in the world are ignorance and greed. That’s why we have to educate.  That’s why I fight for it and that’s why I feel it’s the real revolution.”

However, the rapper also emphasized the need to make learning fun for kids again. And I was with my man up until he said this, “What happens is that education is no longer sexy, it’s no longer cool.”  Lol!....that may be a bit too much but, at least his heart is in the right place.

Finally, Lil Wayne wont have to wait much longer for his newest mixtape installment, "Dedication 5".  Find out why now, plus get more details on all the stories above with Tha Wire now.  Press play now:
