This week’s Vine Comp teaches you not to play with fire, don’t get drunk with friends if you can’t hang, motorcycles are not toys, your closet friends are usually the biggest "A holes,” and Kobe Bryant is the top trending topic of the week, just because he’s that great.

There are those funny, goofy, and down right shocking viral video clips of the week that we all love to shake our heads at in WSHH’s Vine Comp 161, as usual, but I’d like to also offer a different way of watching these videos each week.

It seems the death and injury of young people across the country is at an all time high. It’s documented, recorded on cell phone video, to be shared with anyone, anywhere, where there’s a lit screen and an internet connection. The best example is of the fight clips where kids are knocking each other out, random acts of violence, and also those times when guns are irresponsibly involved. I understand defending yourself, but anything outside of simply “defending yourself,” is not acceptable. Violence is never the answer, and neither is jeopardizing your life. It’s easy to make split second decisions when your mad, but the test of a real man or woman is thinking before you act.

I just ask that we watch these viral videos’ each week not to only be entertained, but to also reflect on the issues that exist among our youth. Food for thought.

WARNING: This video is not intended for children under the ages of 17. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
