The drama concerning Wu-Tang affiliate Christ Bearer ensured many forgot another grave incident in the Wu-Tang extended family. Shyheim Franklin, known as Shyheim the Rugged Child, killed a driver in a New Year's Day hit-and-run accident, and he receives his punishment for the crime this week.

Franklin was sentenced to 14 years for second-degree manslaughter on Thursday (Aug. 21). He'll serve the time concurrent with the seven years he received stemming from a gun conviction for when police found a loaded gun and drugs in his apartment on April 19, 2013. Franklin can also receive five years of post-release supervision.

The former Wu-Tang affiliate attempted to raise support by posting a YouTube video pleading for financial help with his defense. He only succeeded in angering the victim's family, however. Franklin pleaded guilty to manslaughter in July.

Franklin sped past a stop sign and hit Felipe Avila Olea's Toyota at 5:07AM on Jan. 1, according to SI Live. The fatality happened at the New Brighton village of Staten Island, N.Y.
