Today in Tha Wire Fugees rap legend, Wyclef Jean, may not wanna visit L.A. anytime soon, after what happened to him on Tuesday this week.  TMZ reported the story first, but Clef's Instagram videos of the incident took over the story and went it went viral.  As the star tells his story to his 4.3 million followers, the videos picked up more than 70,000 views in one day.  Apparently the rap star was in Cali working on some type of music project, because he mentions "coming from the studio with T-Baby," as he stands on the side of the road handcuffed.

As you can see in the I.G. vids below, Clef is HOT!

Reportedly, the 47-year old star was mistaken as well, because it was actually L.A. Sheriff's deputies, who had him in handcuffs.  Obviously he didn't realize that, given the circumstances.  Unfortunately for Clef though, he was a victim of a very bad case of mistaken identity.  According to news reports, prior to the incident the L.A. Sheriffs Dept. responded to a call of an armed robbery.  At the same time the star was driving in the area, of the deputies search zone.  When they spotted the stars car, it allegedly fit the description of the suspects vehicle and they made a stop.

Now as you see from Clef's statement above, he was pretty disgusted with the whole situation.  The L.A. Sheriff's Dept. realizing they made a mistake issued a statement of their own, along with an apology.  Peep what they had to say below, as seen on their Facebook page.

The whole situation was a mess, but thankfully no one was hurt.  I understand why Clef was angry, it had to be frustrating trying to explain something to people who aren't listening.  I am sure he was extremely embarrassed as well.  At the same time, I get why deputies handcuffed him.  They didn't know who he was and they were just trying to be safe.  It's a catch 22.
