Young Thug Shares the Tracklist and Previews Songs for ‘Jeffery’ Mixtape

Young Thug's newest project Jeffery is only hours away from dropping and the ATL export is not only sharing his tracklist for the project, he's also giving his tech-savvy fans a listening party right now. 300 Entertainment co-founder Lyor Cohen is giving fans a preview of each song courtesy via his Snapchat account. The music mogul shared the 10-second video snippets online earlier today and thanks to the Snapchat saving service Streamable, you can hear them below.

Notice that every song on the tape is named after a person who has some type of prominence in Thug's life. While superstars like Swizz Beatz and RiRi both make appearances, it's track 7 that has people wondering. "Harambe" is named after the gorilla who was shot at the Cincinnati Zoo earlier this summer after a three-year-old boy fell in his cage. Fearing for the little boy's safety, the gorilla was shot to death. This caused a ton of backlash from animal rights activists and inspired plenty of memes throughout the rest of the summer. But what does this have to do with Thug's music? Listen for yourself to find out.

Thugger's new tape is inspired by some artistic growth the rapper's going through. Aside from being the mixtape title, Jeffery is actually his government name. When the "Check" rapper first began promo for the project, Lyor Cohen was leading fans to believe that Thug was actually changing his stage moniker to his real name. But as it turns out, the rapper is only planning to change his name for this one project...for now.
