If having a safe and crime-free neighborhood is important, come out to today's monthly meeting (Tuesday October 14th) at 5:30 pm.  It's important to knew that even though the meetings are being conducting by the Oak Park Neighborhood Watch, ALL surrounding communities, streets, blocks and local residents are welcome.  Hopefully these meetings will continue to grow and inspire other communities within the city to start their own neighborhood watch.  At the end of the day, the meetings are about ending crime within our city/neighborhoods and that takes all of us.

So come out and learn what types of crimes are happening in our city and neighborhoods and what to do when if you encounter such things.  The Oak Park Neighborhood Watch meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:30 pm in the Bellard Recreation Center (formally Hillcrest Community Center).  Leading tonight's meeting will be Mac Golden (Oak Park Neighborhood Watch Team Leader), Lieutenant James Stewart with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Dept. and District 4 Police Jury Tony Guillory.
