NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp was arrested early Monday(Feb. 2, 2015) morning at a the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Phoenix, for soliciting a prostitute and assault.   Sapp has been an annalist for the NFL Network, and was in town to cover the Super Bowel.

At least that used to be his job.  Soon as TMZ Sports broke the story of his arrest, the NFL Network dropped him like a bad habit.  Sapp retired in 2007 from the Oakland Raiders and quickly picked-up a gig with the NFL Network in 2008.  The NFL Network spokesman Alex Riethmiller said, in a statement, "Warren Sapp's contract has been terminated and he no longer works for NFL Network."

So what happen?  According to the Phoenix Police Department, "officers working security at a Downtown Phoenix hotel were investigating a noise disturbance when they were contacted by a female alleging she had been assaulted."  TMZ Sports says, the incident occurred in a hotel room early Monday morning.  Evidently an argument broke-out between Sapp and two women over money and things escalated quickly.

In addition TMZ Sports reports a Renaissance Hotel rep told them, "we were contacted by the Phoenix Police Dept. today in a matter involving a guest.  We are cooperating with police as they look into the situation since it is an active investigation. We have no further comment."

Sgt. Trent Crump, a Phoenix police spokesman said they were originally called to deal with a noise disturbance at the hotel, but when they got there they were approached by a woman who claimed to have been assaulted.  She proceeded to tell them she and another woman were escorts and that they got into an argument about money with a guest in his room, it physical and spilled out into the hallway.  That guest was, Sapp.

Investigators determined that an act of prostitution had occurred, one of the women was cited for prostitution and allowed to leave and Sapp was arrested.  Sgt. Crump said. investigators also observed minor injuries on the women and found them to be consistent with their claims of assault.
