Singer Tank has released a new album Sex, Love, & Pain 2, a follow up to his 2007 release of the same name, Sex, Love & Pain. The R&B singer/actor dropped by The Breakfast Club to discuss his latest project, as well as the state of R&B, and what “Real R&B” is to him.

Tank also talked a little about the issues within TGT, a group comprised of himself, and singers Ginuwine, and Tyrese. Tyrese and Ginuwine took to social media to air out their grievances, which was a total shock to Tank, but he says Tyrese’s comments were valid, and that Ginuwine quitting the group caught him off guard. According to Tank, “we were TGT, and then all of a sudden a couple of text messages went through, and then all of a sudden we weren’t.”

The underrated singer/songwriter also got into details about the workings of the music industry, and why he made the conscious decision to do more than just sing slow songs, even when Tyrese publicly challenged his R&B counter parts to sing more “Real R&B," to which Tank citied, “I’m tired of all these slow songs… I’m tired! I’m tired! I’m tired of walking around the stage. I’m tired of walking. I wanna turn up!” said Tank. “I want to have a good time with music. I want to have fun in my career. I don’t want to sing 7 slow songs in a row, ain’t nobody gonna show up for that!” Tank explained his prior frustrations with traditional R&B not selling anymore, but basically says he quickly got over it.
