Don’t Blow It: Firework Safety Tips You Need This 4th of July
🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Lake Charles, LA — Alright SWLA, listen up. Ive been on earth for 42 years, still got all ten fingers (thank the Lord), and here to talk about something real important: firework safety. That’s right, I’m lookin’ at you, cousin Bubba, the one who tried to light a Roman candle with a cigarette last year, we all know how that ended up.
Now look, fireworks are fun. They go boom, they sparkle, they make you feel like a kid again. But if you’re not careful, they can also turn your backyard BBQ into an unexpected trip to the ER, and let me tell you, there ain’t no potato salad in the waiting room.

According to the NSC, here are a few important Tips when it comes to Fireworks
- Don’t light fireworks in your hand. I know, you think you’re fast. You’re not.
- Keep your water hose nearby. Fire’s hot. Water’s not. Science.
- Don’t let little kids light anything. If your 5-year-old can’t spell “kaboom,” they shouldn’t be causing it.
- Read the labels. If the firework has instructions written in a language you don’t understand or was homemade by a guy named Skeeter, maybe skip it.
- No fireworks after midnight. Not a safety tip really, but your neighbors will thank you.
- And please, don’t shoot bottle rockets out of places they weren’t meant to go. You know what I’m talkin’ about.
Have fun this 4th of July, blow stuff up responsibly, and let’s all make it to work Monday with our limbs attached and our dignity mostly intact.
Happy Boom Boom Season, y’all!
