First off, we want to send our thoughts and prayers to our friends and families in Florida who were hit by Hurricane Milton overnight. They are still dealing with wind, rain, and storm surges and it is going to take a lot of work to rebuild the area.

Hurricane Milton has been breaking records ever since it formed back on Monday. It went from a tropical storm to a category-five hurricane in less than 24 hours. The pressure dropped so low that it rivaled Hurricane Rita from 2005 which hit Southwest Louisiana.

We all know too well here in Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana what it is like to get two major hurricanes in one year. Back in 2020, hurricane Laura hit Lake Charles and then six short weeks later we were hit by Hurricane Delta too. The west coast of Florida is getting hit by two hurricanes in two weeks. They haven't even been able to clean up from Helelne when Milton came through last night.

Once formed, Milton had its eye on the West coast of Florida the entire time with a bullseye set on the central part of the state. The highest recording winds for Hurricane Milton got up to 185 miles per hour which was unbelievable. Tuesday, Milton went through an eyewall replacement which thank goodness weekend the storm some.

As of Wednesday, it got up to 155 miles per hour as it approached the West coast of Florida. If you are a weather nerd like us, then the only cool thing about this hurricane is this video that surfaced of Hurricane Milton from space.

As terrible as the storm was, it looked pretty from space. NASA and the astronauts on the International Space Station released a video of Hurricane Milton from space taken by the space station. The video and the photos are impressive. Check it out.

How crazy is that? It's somewhat beautiful too. Even though we marvel at Mother Nature and her fury, we still think about what Hurricane Milton did by disrupting people's lives and the damage it caused. Prayers for Florida.
