Louisiana Ice Cream Shop Named Best in the State
(KNGT-FM) - We all know that summertime here in the Deep South can be brutal, and the best way to cool off after being in the sun is a bowl of Ice Cream.
Growing up, anytime we were on the road as a family and we were anywhere near the Lafayette area, we HAD to stop off in Scott at the Candyland Cottage & Ice Cream Shoppe. That place was like HEAVEN for me as a kid, and if we're being honest, I still stop in every once and a while to this day.

There are a ton of ice cream companies that claim to have the best ice cream, but if you're here in the South, especially here in Louisiana and Texas, we're choosing Blue Bell Ice Cream EVERY chance we get! Blue Bell has all sorts of flavors and is known for its classics like Homemade Vanilla, Cookies ’n Cream, and Dutch Chocolate. Recently, they brought back fan favorites like Groom’s Cake and Cookie Cake, and introduced fun new flavors like Banana Fudge and Strawberry Toaster Pastry.
While Blue Bell Ice Cream is pretty high up on the list for most folks, not much beats some fresh HOMEMADE ice cream that is made from scratch!

LUCY BOONE ICE CREAM SHOP NAMED BEST IN LOUISIANA
Lucy Boone Ice Cream is a family-run scoop shop in New Orleans known for small-batch, scratch-made flavors, and they were just named the Best Ice Cream Shop in Louisiana by EatThis.com!
Here's what EatThis.com had to say...
Another pandemic-born success story, Lucy Boone Ice Cream is a passion project from pastry chef Abby Boone, who, after starting it in a shared restaurant space, branched out a homey parlor all her own. Made in small batches from scratch, with as many locally sourced ingredients as possible, the shop is a favorite among local chefs, like Sophina Uong of Mister Mao, who calls it the best in the state: “The flavors are inspired by classic desserts — think Passionfruit Pavlova, Strawberry Crisp, and Key Lime Pie — and treats like Choco Tacos, ice cream sandwiches, pies, and trifles.”
