Movies Under the Stars Returns To The Lake Area April 4

It's springtime in Southwest Louisiana, and what better thing to do than get out of the house and enjoy the Springtime weather? You can do that as one of the most popular events in Southwest Louisiana is back for another season.

The family-friendly Movies Under the Stars four-week movie event is back, starting in April 2025 and running through the entire month. Movies Under the Stars is put on by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, and the popular event is a four-week movie series.

Movies Under the Stars takes place at different locations around Calcasieu Parish. The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury just released the schedule and locations for each event.

2025 Movies Under the Stars Lineup in Lake Charles, Louisiana

On Friday, April 4, 2025 the movie featured will be the animated musical, Wish. The movie is rated PG. This movie will be shown at Prien Lake Park, located at 3700 West Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles.

On Friday, April 11, 2025 the movie featured will be DC League of Super Pets. The movie is rated PG. This movie will be shown at Mallard Junction Park, located at 599 August Drive in Lake Charles.

On Friday, April 18, 2025, the movie featured will be Peter Rabbit. The movie is rated PG. This movie will be shown on the lawn of McNeese State University’s Bulber Auditorium, located at 4205 Ryan Street in Lake Charles.

On Friday, April 25, 2025, the movie featured will be Mufasa: The Lion King. The movie is rated PG. This movie will be shown at the River Bluff Park, located 543 Theriot Road in Moss Bluff.

According to the Police Jury,

All movies will start at 6:30 p.m. but be sure to get there early to get the best spots. Residents are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. Residents can bring their own food. Free popcorn and cotton candy will be served at each event.

Movies will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced before the event on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website at calcasieu.gov and on CPPJ’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
