It looks like Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana is about to get a new restaurant soon and the opening date could be sooner than you think. Before you ask, no it's not another Mexican restaurant coming to the lake area lol.

The announcement was made a while back that Shucks: The Louisiana Seafood House would be coming to Lake Charles but no one knew exactly when the restaurant would open. Then a few months after the announcement, we started seeing construction begin on the new eatery coming to the lake area.

Have you ever heard of Shucks? If not here is some information about the Louisiana-based restaurant. According to their Facebook page,

We are a locally owned and operated Cajun restaurant in the heart of South Louisiana. We specialize in cuisine made from our family recipes using fresh local ingredients. Expect a heaping helping of Southern hospitality along with a great meal TODAY!!

Shucks already has one location in Louisiana and it's located in Abbeville. The restaurant was founded in 1995 and bills itself as serving authentic Cajun Cuisine and promoting the Cajun culture. Some of the featured items they have on the menu include stuffed shrimp, crawfish etouffee, fried or grilled oysters, and so much more.

They made the big announcement on Facebook that the Shucks location being built in Lake Charles is close to completion and that they would be opening quoted as "Happenning Real Soon". The will be located on Contraband Parkway which is the new road that comes off of West Prien Lake Road that goes to L'Auberge Boulevard.
