Norwegian Cruise Line Bringing New Ships To Galveston In 2025

(Galveston, Texas) - If you are an avid cruiser and you sail out of Galveston, Texas, soon you will have another cruise line to sail on. The port of Galveston is already home to a few cruise lines like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, Princess, and MSC cruise lines, but now another popular cruise line will make the port its home.

In the Texas and Louisiana area, there are only two port options to sail out of that are close enough to drive to without having to take a flight. One is in New Orleans and the other is Galveston, Texas. Most people in Louisiana and Texas opt for these two ports to save money on not having to pay for an airline ticket to get to a port because it is within driving distance.

Now there is a new cruise line hoping for the party and coming to the Port of Galveston.  Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) will be making Galveston, Texas, another port where fans of the cruise line can opt to sail out of for a vacation.

Norwegian Cruise Ships That Sail Out Of Galveston, Texas

• The Norwegian Viva will sail out of Galveston from December 2025 to April 2026. The ship will offer a seven-day Western Caribbean cruise to Cozumel, Roatan, and Harvest Caye.

• The Norwegian Jade will offer an 11–17-day cruise through the Panama Canal from October 2025 to April 2026.

The Port of Galveston put out a press release saying,

NCL has a 10-year contract with Galveston Wharves to use a new terminal at the port, which is expected to open in November 2025. This will allow NCL to homeport in Galveston full-time.
