Tony & Tina’s Wedding Chaos Comes to SWLA for a Great Cause

A great time will be had by all if you attend the wedding of Tony & Tina, which is an interactive play that gets you involved in the action. While you enjoy the chaos that issues at the wedding, just know you will also be helping out a great cause.

The Lake Charles Little Theatre is putting on this fundraiser to raise funds to repair their theatre located in downtown Lake Charles, which was severely damaged in 2020 during hurricanes Laura and Delta.

So, what is Tony and Tina's Wedding? “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” is one of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows in theatre history. The Lake Charles Little Theatre has put together a seasoned local cast, and the Little Theatre and director-president Barbara Price-Downer are staging it for the first time locally as a major fundraiser.

Mike Brignac from the Lake Charles Little Theatre described the show like this,

It’s like a real wedding—only funnier! It’s “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding,” a comedy dinner theater show by the Lake Charles Little Theatre.

The show is billed as an “immersive experience.” Audience members are “guests” at a rowdy Italian-American wedding reception in 1980s New Jersey. (Think “Jersey Shore” meets “Father of the Bride.”)

The whole crowd applauds the bride, sits down for an Italian buffet dinner, can dance at the reception, and finishes it all off with a champagne toast and slice of wedding cake!

Tickets for the show can be purchased on the Lake Charles Little Theatre Facebook page or the Lake Charles Little Theatre website.

There are three performances scheduled. They are Friday, June 20th, and Saturday, June 21st, at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, June 22nd, at 2:00 pm. All three shows will take place at the Southlake Theatre located at 4720 Nelson Rd, Suite 110 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
