I’ve seen folks cook up a pot of gumbo during a hurricane and fry just about anything you can think of. But the other day I started thinking... what if someone from out of town moved here? What would surprise them?

First off, life moves a little different down here. We like to take our time. Folks wave at everybody, even if they don’t know you. If you pass someone on the road and don’t wave, well, they’re gonna talk about it. We’re just raised to be friendly.
