
Canadian Mining Company To Build Rare Earth Metals Facility In Louisiana
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - A Canadian mining company has announced their intentions of building a facility in Calcasieu Parish to refine rare earth metals.
These rare earth metals are utilized in a wide range of electronics and motors in the technological, consumer, and defense sectors.

New Rare Earth Metals Facility In Louisiana
KPLC is reporting that Aclara Resources Inc. plans on building a $277 million rare earth metals facility that will be the first of its kind in the United States of America.
The company intends to extract rare earth metals from South American mines and transport them to Louisiana for processing at its proposed Vinton facility. The metals will be extracted and separated from the clay mineral deposits at the facility using hydrochloric acid.

Where will the new rare earth metals facility be located in Louisiana?
The new facility is said to bring in around 140 new jobs to the area and will be located at the Port of Vinton.
It will be harvesting rare earth metals such as dysprosium, neodymium, praseodymium and terbium.
