McNeese Cowboys Football Opener Moved To Bigger Channel
LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA: The new look McNeese Cowboys football team will get an even bigger audience for their Week Zero match up with Tarleton State. We have all the details.
In the 2023 season opener against Tarleton State it was tied going into halftime, then the Texans turned on the gas and defeated the Pokes 52-34 behind a huge second half rally.
This year the game will be held in Stephenville, Texas on August 24 with a 2:45pm kickoff time. The MSU Athletic Department changed the date of the game to be featured in Week Zero of the college football season. With less teams playing, it's a greater chance of exposure for the program.
It was originally announced that the game would be aired on ESPNU which was huge news at the time for the Cowboys. However, today, McNeese sports insider Jim Gazzolo is reporting that game has now been moved to air on ESPN2.
