Tropical Storm Francine 1PM South Louisiana Update

LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA: Tropical Strom Francine is expected to turn into a hurricane before making impact with the Louisiana coast on Wednesday night.  We have all the details.

TS Francine is currently expected to strengthen to a category one hurricane however, meteorologists are saying that you should always prepare for a category higher than forecasted to be on the safe side of your hurricane preparation plans.

Meteorologist Zack Fradella  is reporting that almost the whole state of Louisiana is in the "cone of error". Which means no one who lives on the coast of Louisiana is out of the woods just yet.

Zach is also reporting that this storm will be capable of producing a large storm surge.

Currently, Tropical Storm Francine is traveling at 5 mph NNW and has maximum sustained winds of 60 mph. Category one hurricanes have winds of 74-95 mph. We could have a hurricane at the 4pm NHC update if Francine begins to develop a clear eye of circulation between now and then.
