Tropical Storm Francine 4PM South Louisiana Update
LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA: Tropical Strom Francine is expected to turn into a hurricane before making impact with the Louisiana coastline on Wednesday night. We have all the details.
TS Francine is currently expected to strengthen to a category two hurricane however, meteorologists are saying that you should always prepare for a category higher than forecasted to be on the safe side of your hurricane preparation plans.
Meteorologist Zack Fradella shows that almost the whole state of Louisiana is in the "cone of error". Which means no one who lives on the coast of Louisiana is out of the woods just yet.
Zach is also reporting that this storm will be capable of producing a large storm surge.
Currently, Tropical Storm Francine is traveling at 7 mph NW and has maximum sustained winds of 65 mph. Category one hurricanes have winds of 74-95 mph. We could have a hurricane at the 10pm NHC update if Francine begins to develop a clear eye of circulation between now and then.
Meteorologist Rob Perillo is reporting that the NHC has upgraded the prediction of TS Francine to strengthen to a category two hurricane by landfall and that the track hasn't changed that much from the 1pm update.
