In-N-Out Burger Announces Major Expansion – Is Louisiana Included?

Louisiana residents have always had a passion for food. No, Louisiana residents have always had a passion for good food. And since California-based In-N-Out Burger is considered by many burger aficionados to be "good food" any talk of expansion that would include Louisiana is reason enough for residents along the bayou to perk up their ears and pay attention.

Even the late Anthony Bourdain sang the praises of the burger chain. I guess it's where he would eat when there wasn't a Popeyes buffet close by. Don't believe us that Bourdain liked Popeyes? Proof right here.

The Southern California burger chain has almost reached folklore status when you speak to those who have sampled their fare. The fact that the burgers were once exclusive to Southern California made those that couldn't get them want to have them even more.

Think of how Coors Beer used to be. The desire for the "Banquet Beer" was such a social phenomenon it was the underlying theme behind the greatest movie ever made. Okay, I thought Smokey and the Bandit was good, so maybe that "greatest movie ever made" conjecture is my singular opinion.

I have never sampled an In-N-Out Burger but I know people who have and like people who do Crossfit, they can't shut up about them. But maybe those people and those of us who have never sampled In-N-Out will soon be able to talk with our mouths full because the chain has just announced a major expansion to Tennessee by the year 2026. 

And, if you read between the lines of a statement made by the company's owner, Lynsi Snyder burger lovers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Alabama might have some very good reasons to get acquainted with the In-N-Out menu. Even the secret menu items you sometimes hear about on social media.

In Snyder's announcement about the Tennessee expansion, she mentioned the stores in the Volunteer State would be supplied via a distribution hub in Texas. This means In-N-Out trucks will be traversing states between Texas and Tennessee. If you didn't do well in geography, here's where the reading between the lines comes in. Those trucks will have to travel over some of the aforementioned states to supply restaurants in Tennessee.

Snyder, who once said Texas would be the end of the line for In-N-Out expansion has now tempered that response by suggesting that following the Tennessee expansion other states will be included in the plan eventually. Snyder did not elaborate on which other states or when other states might be included but she certainly left "the drive-thru lane open" for those In-N-Out fans who live in areas where the chain isn't available.

To borrow from the movie Dumb and Dumber, "So, you're telling me there's a chance". I guess we'll have to just pull up and park until we hear more.
