Transformers: The Last Knight, the latest in the Hasbro franchise, has been in production for a while, but Michael Bay and co. have mostly kept all plot details under wraps. One rumor made its way to the surface a few months ago, but it wasn't until today that it was pretty much confirmed. This could get a little spoiler-y, so proceed at your own risk.

Michael Bay’s next installment in the Transformers franchise doesn’t hit theaters until next June, but the director hasn’t been shy about sharing videos and high quality promo photos from the set of The Last Knight. Although he’s yet to reveal any specific plot details, Bay has kept fans up to date with the growing roster of characters, which now includes a Decepticon you might remember from the original Transformers cartoon series.

Following last week’s reveal of Bumblebee’s slick new wheels, Michael Bay has shared another one of the vehicle upgrades from Transformers: The Last Knight. It looks like the Autobots won’t be the only ones receiving makeovers, as the latest photo depicts a familiar Decepticon sporting a new look.

What, you didn’t think Michael Bay would actually give his new Transformers sequel a silly title like Transformers 5, did you? Of course not. As with its predecessors, the next installment in the franchise has been given a lengthier, more regal name, and is now officially titled Transformers: The Last Knight. Arise, Sir Optimus Prime.

Since Michael Bay decided to make Transformers: Age of Extinction his last directorial outing with the franchise, it’s been unclear just where the series is heading. We’d heard talk of Mark Wahlberg returning to continue the storyline that began with last summer’s film, but little else since then. Taking a cue from Disney’s Star Wars plans (along with every other major studio’s “expanded universe” attempts), Paramount has hired Akiva Goldsman to create a “writers room” and brainstorm new sequel and spinoff ideas.
