None of us want to think about hurricane season, but the reality is we are a month and a half away from the start of the season.

Scientists are showing great concern over Gulf water temperatures this early in the year. It could mean a spike in stronger thunderstorms or maybe stronger hurricanes for the region.

Fema is opening Disaster Recovery Centers in various parishes to assist families.

There's really not much we can do about it, hurricane season is once again upon us.  I truly hope and pray that the seas will cooperate and leave us all free of disaster.  However, now is the time to start taking all of the precautionary measures.
