The Lake Charles Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the shooting on Fournet Street.

According to KPLC, 20-year-old Devlon Willis-Muhammad was arrested and charged with second-degree murder for the shooting that occurred in the 1500 bock of Fournet Street on Wednesday morning, May 24. The incident caused Ralph Wilson Elementary School to be put on precautionary lockdown. Willis-Muhammad also lives in the area.

Witnesses told police they heard gunshots following an argument at approximately 7:30 a.m.  Upon arrival at 7:38 a.m. officers reportedly found 27-year-old Robert Bracy dead of an “apparent gunshot wound”

Lt. Richard Harrell told KPLC, the shooting happened during an argument between the two men, leading Willis-Muhammad to take out a gun and shoot Bracy "multiple times."

Willis-Muhammad has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $1.5 million.
