ASAP Rocky and Nas are heading to the big screen. The two rappers are set to star in a new film called Monster, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Nas is heavily involved in Monster as he and John Legend are also serving as executive producers of the movie. Both artists will be contributing to the film's music too.

Monster will be the directorial debut of Anthony Mandler, who is best known for his frequent work with Rihanna. Mandler has also directed music videos for Jay Z, Drake, Eminem, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg.

The film tells the story of Steve (played by Kelvin Harrison Jr.), a 17-year-old honors student and aspiring filmmaker in Harlem, who gets charged with felony murder for a crime he says he didn't commit. Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson is also part of the ensemble cast.

ASAP Rocky's new acting gig comes on the heels of him being named creative director of MTV Labs. The Harlem native spoke highly of this new venture in a press release issued last week.

"MTV is a name we grew up with – everyone knows them as innovators and champions of building artist’s careers," he said. "I’m honored to have this opportunity and can’t wait to show people what we have been working on.”

ASAP Rocky has some new music on the way too. The ASAP Mob is expected to release their Cozy Tapes Vol. 1 project before the end of 2016.
