Today in Tha Wire, it's been a week since Chris Brown was arrested on suspicion of assault, after Baylee Curran called police claiming the star threatened her with a gun at his home. These type of claims have plagued the star ever since his altercation with Rihanna in 2009. He wears the label of "women beater", "violent", or a person with "anger issues".  However, the truth is that the only problem he has is people WILL NOT let him move on. Award shows are blackballing him from winning anything, con-artists are coming out of the woodwork trying to score a check every time he turns around, he performs in certain countries and some networks won't even work with him. Being Chris Brown has got to be tough.

The good news is little by little, people are starting to understand his frustration. Last week was a perfect example of how extreme his life has become. In a matter of hours, his Tarzana mansion was surrounded by three different law enforcement units, with helicopters flying overhead. You would've thought he had murdered someone or was holding someone hostage, but all of that manpower and use of force was over a phone call.

Baylee Curran called police and accused the actor/singer of pulling a gun on her during a party at his California home. And that's all it took. Breezy was considered guilty, and now has to prove he's innocent. The 27-year-old was arrested and had to post bail to the tune of $250,000 before being released. Meanwhile, Curran was setting up interviews with various media outlets to tell her story. The former pageant contestant claimed she was kicked out of the singer’s crib when she was seen admiring diamond jewelry.

That's evidently not true, according to Curran. Apparently, she sent a text to a friend that gives an entirely different account of what happened, and Breezy's attorney, Mark Geragos, was more than happy to share it. Curran allegedly brags about teaching the singer a lesson, writing:

“This freak Chris Brown is kicking me out of his house because I called his friend’s jewelry fake… I’m going to set him up and call the cops and say that he tried to shoot me and that will teach him a lesson. I’m going to set his a** up.”

Hmmm. Though Curran’s reps say the text is a fake, Geragos says the surveillance footage from Chris's in-home surveillance isn't, and will prove beyond a shadow of doubt that the woman's allegations were "demonstrably false". The gloves are off, and Breezy's legal team is looking for their client to be completely vindicated. Yesterday, the R&B singer/actor released a clip to ABC News telling the network the LAPD search of his home turned up absolutely nothing. There was no gun or jewelry as Curran described. By the way, earlier reports of a duffel bag being found with guns and drugs in it were completely false. The 27-year-old told ABC “the world will see” he was telling the truth soon, adding:

“There was a search that was done (by detectives),” he explained. “They went in, and said they had a description of the piece of jewelry. (It was) not found in the house. They went in (looking for) a gun; (it was) not found in the house.”

Maintaining his innocence, Chris Brown explained to the network there's no video evidence of any altercation on any of his surveillance cameras throughout his home saying, “There’s no Chris Brown waving a gun. No Baylee looking at a box of jewelry.”

Now there's growing speculation that L.A. Deputy District Attorney, Mary Murray, may be gunning for Chris after all. Murray actually prosecuted him in the Rihanna assault case and was heavily involved in the various probation violation hearings, many times asking for jail time, but lost out each time. Breezy isn't her favorite person, especially after he accused her of having it out for him and calling her a racist on Twitter. It doesn't stop there. The D.A. turned around and had Breezy's community service hours tossed out, causing the star to have to work them again.

Get this: TMZ reports that Murray is also behind Chris Brown being arrested last week! Police say they had no intention on arresting him, deciding instead to take the case under investigation (which is exactly what they should've done.) In fact, when things calmed down, Breezy came out of the house and was actually laughing and talking with the cops. (See the video below.)  Meanwhile, Geragos believes authorities will end up dropping the case before the singer's arraignment hearing on September 20. Ya think?
