iPhone lovers everywhere: Get ready for the upcoming release of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which according to Apple CEO Tim Cook, is “...the best iPhone that we have ever created”. In an official statement released Wednesday, September 7 by one of the world's largest tech companies, not only will the iPhone 7 be water-resistant, but it also features dual cameras, stereo speakers, no headphone jack, three options of up to 256GB in space, and the “longest battery life ever in an iPhone.”

The latest iPhone will be similar to its predecessor, the iPhone 6, sporting a rounded aluminum body. The 3.5mm headphones will be no more, as they introduce the AirPods. The only way to use traditional headphones will require the use of an adapter. Yes, more money for you to spend. The 7’s new color is “jet black”, but expect Apple to release more models in black, silver, gold, and rose gold. The iPhone 7 will feature "the brightest, most colorful Retina HD display ever in an iPhone,” said the press release. All models will be available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.

You can pre-order the iPhone 7, 7 Plus, and Apple Watch Series 2 beginning September 9, and they will be available beginning Friday, September 16. Apple’s newly designed wireless AirPods will be included with all iPhone 7 and 7 Plus phones, as well as a Lightning Connector and a Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter. AirPods won’t be available in stores as sold separately until late October 2016.

I’ve owned iPhones before, so I’m not against them, and I’ll probably own another in the future. Right now, the Android phones fit my preference for what I do as a professional Dj, because sometimes I’m at a gig and forget a song. I’m able to download the song right to my phone if there’s no internet access form my computer. I simply transfer the song from my phone to my laptop, and I’m back in action. I haven’t been able to perform that task with an iPhone. Either that, or I really suck at using AirDrop, and on that note, I will return with an update.

One thing's for certain, though. Apple has found a way to get every cent out of their technology possible. It’s what I like to refer to as minimizing the product, and maximizing the profit. There’s nothing they make that you aren’t going to spend a decent amount of money on, besides a $9 headphone jack adapter. Still, isn’t that pretty pricey for such a small accessory? People feel they have to have the latest whatever to survive in society nowadays, so expect Apple to have yet another successful fourth quarter. A bit of advice though: don’t wait in long lines for a phone. Pre-order online; it’s not that serious.
