The singer best known for the Friday night party song,"Just Got Paid", Johnny Kemp was found dead in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  He was 55.

MSN.com reports the 80's R&B singer Johnny Kemp was found floating in the Montego Bay beach Thursday morning.  The Bahamian artist was best known for the hit song "Just Got Paid," has died in Jamaica. He was 55.

According to the Bahamas Weekly, Kemp was scheduled to perform on the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Cruise this week but never got on the ship.  Reach Media, the company responsible for the Tom Joyner Foundation, issued the following statement:

“We have received confirmation that Johnny Kemp has passed away. We do not have any other details. We can confirm he was not on the ship for the Tom Joyner Foundation Fantastic Voyage Cruise.”

So far the cause of death has not been determined.  Jamaica police are investigating.  He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Johnny Kemp began his career as a teen in the his homeland of the Bahamas.  By 1979, he moved to New York and soon released the album Secrets of Flying.  The album included hits "Just Another Lover" and "Dancin' with Myself."  His biggest hit to date was his 88' hit "Just Got Paid," which shot to number one on Billboard and earned him a Grammy Award.
