Lake Area Runners is a non-profit organization and their main purpose is to promote healthy living here in SWLA through running.  Interested in joining?  Every Wednesday they meet up for their weekly "Hump Day Group Run" at Botsky's, located at 104 W Pujo St, in Lake Charles at 6 p.m. After each run, everyone is invited to stick around and have a delicious hot dog and a beer.  Plus, try and win a free entry to the upcoming 4 Miler On The 4th, which is an annual Triple Crown Race Series.
In addition to hosting a variety of running races in and around the Lake Charles, LA area.  They also help promote and host other running events from any organization in the Lake Area.  For more info about being a sponsor, volunteering, or getting LAR to help support your organizations event, shoot us an email at LakeAreaRunners@gmail.com

The 4 Miler is a long standing Lake Charles tradition, and the last race of the year. The top male and female runners, with the fastest averaged times from all 3 of LA Area triple crown races, will win a free entry in to every Lake Area Runner event in the 2015-2016 season.  Those who finish all 3 triple crown races, will receive an extra medal as well!

The race course will travel down Lake Shore Drive, and through part of the historic/Garden district.  For more info, schedules and more click here.4 Miler On The 4th Lake Charles.
