Spring is here and the end of the 2017 school year draws near, come out and experience the joys of fishing with family and friends.  The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) presents the "Family Fish Fest," on Saturday April 29, 2017, from 6:30 a.m. to 12 Noon.  This is a FREE EVENT that's open to the public, with plenty of fishing for all ages.

The "Family Fish Fest" will take place at Calcasieu Point Landing, located at 3955 Henry Pugh Road in Lake Charles.  Enjoy this family fun-filled day complete with friendly competitions like knot tying, fish identification, a scavenger hunt, casting and more. Fishing competitions will have two divisions, boating and shore.  The age and category breakdown is as follows:

Little Angler - ages 8 & under

Junior Angler - ages 9 to 15

Adult Angler - ages 16 & up

The first 100 youth to enter the fishing competitions, will receive a gift bag full of goodies!
