Meek Mill’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, is planning to file an appeal on behalf of the Philadelphia rapper who was received a two to four-year prison sentence for violating his parole.

In the upcoming appeals process, Tacopina is seeking to have Philadelphia Judge Genece Brinkley be recused following allegations of misconduct on her part.

As we previously reported, Tacopina claimed that during a private meeting in February 2016, Brinkley asked Mill to record a version of Boyz II Men’s ballad “On Bended Knee” and dedicate it to her. Mill reportedly laughed it off and told he that he doesn’t do that and Brinkley response was, “OK, suit yourself.”

According to Philly.com, the only people in the meeting other than the judge and the court stenographer were Mill, his former attorney, Frank DeSimone, and his then-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, and Assistant District Attorney Noel A. DeSantis. The transcript of said meeting has been sealed to the public.

Brinkley has not commented on the allegations. On Wednesday (Nov. 9), Gabriel Roberts, a spokesman for the Philadelphia court system, issued a statement on her behalf that said: “Because this matter is subject to future litigation, there will be no comment at this time.”

When asked if Nicki Minaj would be involved in Mill’s appeal case, Tacopina said that it isn’t required at this time but will pursue all options to “make sure this perversion of justice is corrected.”

Reps for Nicki Minaj had no comment on the matter.
