Over the weekend I got the chance to watch the Hip Hop evolution on Netflix and it truly highlighted how the south really took the baton of the genre and ran with it. They highlighted the sound of the legendary DJ Screw who created the chopped and screwed sound which was ahead of it's time and has become a landmark of the Houston sound.

I was online earlier today and came across a clip for an upcoming All Screwed Up movie trailer that will be premiering on a yet to be disclosed network. While we know about the sound and the music. The series promises to touch on the life of Robert Earl "DJ Screw" Davis Jr while showing the positive effect he had on the music culture and the politics he had to deal with from those copying his style to law enforcement.

All Screwed Up Trailer:

Again there is not an official date for the release but the series is going to be directed by Isaac "Chill" Yowman and produced by Sidney Walker, Miriam Heads, Michelle Williams, Lil' Keke & Derrick Dixon. It's going to be great to finally be able to see his life being told through the people who knew him best. Be on the look out for it to hit televisions soon.
