When you think of joints like "Walk It Out", "2 Step" and even "Step Daddy". DJ Jelly has been instrumental in the development of that music. He is co founder of Oomp Camp Records which introduced the world to Hitman Sammy Sam and DJ Unk. But before he started all of that, he was the voice of ATL with the hottest mixtapes on the block.

Being from Mississippi, he was one of those guys we were excited about. The same way Louisiana gravitated to DJ Screw, Mississippi and Alabama was on DJ Jelly.He was the king of blending in the latest music and even throw back songs. You could put in a Jelly cd and never take it out of the player.

That is why I am honored to be bringing Oomp Camp Radio to Lake Charles and since it is all about music and we're celebrating Black Music Month, it's debuting Juneteenth weekend. DJ Jelly and The Southern Style DJ's will take over the radio beginning on June 19th at midnight and hold it down til 2 pm. It's an extension of Club 107 and another way to keep the Lake turned up on 10.
