School Supplies for Calcasieu Parish will be provided

It's funny to think that the last day of school seems like yesterday and we are already talking about heading back to school. Yep that is correct. School in Calcasieu Parish will begin on August 12 and we are having to scuffle to make sure that our kids will have their uniforms and supplies for a potentially prosperous school year this year.

Well I have a little good news for you. School supplies for Calcasieu Parish Students will be given school supplies at no charge for the school year. On yesterday it was announced by the Calcasieu Parish School board that all students Pre- K through 8th will be given school supplies for the 2021-2022 school year.

This will include basic school supplies that are being purchased by the CPSB and outside partners as well. Depending on each school and grade level, families may request additional supplies if needed. I remember when my wife and I would be running around with this long list of school supplies and on occasion, our funds ran out before the list. Kudos to the Calcasieu Parish Board for coming together with organizations to assist the families during this much needed moment.
