BET.com reports the "Dogg Father" of Hip Hop isn't always about fun and games, he's about business and his coins too.  Rap icon/actor Snoop Dogg teamed up with Pabst Brewing Co., makers of Colt 45, in 2011 to endorse their new fruit flavored beer.

According to the  Associated Press, Snoop is endorsing Blast by Colt 45.  Under the three-year deal, he received an upfront payment of $250,000 and was supposed to be paid $20,000 every time he mentioned the beer ten times, during his concerts, TV appearances or on his social media.  The deal also promised royalty payments on every case of Blast sold.

Snoop is saying he hasn't received a royalty check yet and has filed suit against the brewing company for breach of contract.  Meanwhile, Pabst says they are looking into the matter and eager to get to the bottom of the situation.

Finally, singer/producer Akon is looking to make some BIG things happen in the Motherland.  Kon is on a mission to Light Up Africa, literally AllHipHop reports.  Akon and his team are actually in the process of providing electricity for more than 600 million people living in Africa. Being from Senegal in West Africa, the Konvict Muzik superstar is giving back and using his resources to start-up the first ever solar academy in Mali, to teach the people how to renew energy, thus allowing for them to enjoy it and create jobs all at the same time.

Akon talked about his project with CNN, saying that as a child he didn't have electricity.   He also realized that a lot of projects like this get held-up for lack of participation and funding.  To that he said, “I realized Africa would have to be built by Africans themselves. he added, “So we wanted to create a generation of doers and people that would actually make a difference, so ultimately I just decided to start with myself.”

Below Akon give more details about his project.
