Update: 50 Cent Pleads Not Guilty To Domestic Violence Charge
When news broke that he could face charges for domestic violence, 50 Cent laughed. Well, after today's court hearing, the rap mogul doesn't find things to funny anymore.
As previously reported, Fifty was in the news for all the wrong reasons. The rapper/actor allegedly attacked the mother of his child, Daphne Joy, after an altercation at her California condo. According to TMZ, 50 Cent went berserk at his girlfriends L.A. apartment and destroyed furniture among other things. Joy ran into a room and tried to hide, at which time 50 allegedly kicked the door down and then kicked her. The rapper was charged with domestic violence and property damage Friday (Aug. 2).
Today Fif was in court to face the music and plead not guilty to domestic violence, where he was ordered to turn in all of his guns. In addition, a protective order has also been put in place, barring 50 from any contact or coming within 100 feet of the model. On top of that, as he was leaving the courtroom this morning he was served with more paperwork related to the case.
This is just the latest family issue that's gone public. Just last month, explosive text messages between 50 Cent and his son Marquise leaked online. The argument got so intense that the rapper went so far as to disown his 16-year-old son during the exchange. Apparently, they were arguing about 50 coming to pick his son up and Marquise refusing to come outside.
All this bad press is starting to effect his working relationships as well. Speaking of which, 50 Cent has just been dropped from MLB.com's upcoming All-Star Bash in NYC in the wake of the recent domestic violence scandal.
