Update in 5th Avenue Homicide Investigation, Additional Arrest Made

A Lafayette man turns himself into police for 2nd-degree murder in connection to an October homicide investigation in Lake Charles.

According to a media release from the Lake Charles Police Department, on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, Kevin Leon Braxton, 31, of Lafayette turned himself into the Lafayette Police Department on the active 2nd-degree murder warrant that was issued for his involvement in the 5th Avenue murder that occurred on October 1. Braxton’s bond is set at $1.25 million.
