17th Annual Beauregard Parish Watermelon Festival June 23 – 25
The 17th Annual Beauregard Parish Watermelon Festival will take place from June 23 - 25 at the Beauregard Parish Fairgrounds (506 West Drive
Deridder, LA 74501) presented by the Beauregard Christian Women's Job Corps'(BCWJC). All proceeds from this family fun-filled event will help the BCWJC fund free services for women in need, such as the chance to gain a high school GED, learn job and life skills and help to develop spiritual and emotional growth. Director Peggy Renfrow, told the American Express that fundraisers like the Watermelon Fest help the nonprofit organization keep its doors open.
Bring the entire family and enjoy three days of of delicious watermelon, plenty of great food, a carnival, a kids zone, live entertainment and more. Plus, the annual cornhole tournaments and various festival favorites like the a seed spitting and watermelon eating contests! For those looking forward to the annual Beauregard Watermelon Festival 5K Run / Walk, participants can fill out a registration form.
The highly anticipated race will take place on June 25 in downtown DeRidder at 7 a.m. The registration fee is $25/person or $30/person the day of. Teams or groups of 6 can register for $100, and additional group members are just $10 each. Teams of 10 or more, can register for $10/person. This year runners/walkers will have new scenery to enjoy too! The race is beginning and ending in a new location, in front of City Hall at the Flag Plaza (205 S. Washington St.) Trophies will be presented to the fastest male and female runners in multiple age categories ranging from 11 and over 65.
