2 Chainz, T-Pain, DaBaby and More: New Projects This Week
We all have choices to make in life. For 2 Chainz, his options included becoming a rapper or becoming a pro basketball player. Although the Grammy-nominated rap star decided to forgo his hoop dreams, he managed to team up with the NBA’s current G.O.A.T. for his latest album, Rap or Go to the League. A&R'd by LeBron James, the Playaz Circle member’s fifth solo album features collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, Chance The Rapper, E-40 and others.
T-Pain gifted fans and followers with a couple of surprises this week. Not only did the Rappa Ternt Sanga unveil himself as the winner of the first season of Fox’s unique hit singing competition, The Masked Singer, he also without much warning dropped his sixth solo album, 1UP. The 12-song project comes with contributions from newcomers like Flipp Dinero, as well as OGs like Boosie BadAzz and Lil Wayne, who appears on “Goat Talk.”
DaBaby has been on his grind in 2019. After releasing back to back visuals for records found on last year’s 10-track project, Blank Blank and a couple of freestyle videos, the recently signed native of Charlotte, N.C. delivers Baby on Baby. The mixtape features 12 songs including “TuPac,” “Suge,” “Walker Texas Ranger” and “Pony,” as well as several guest appearances.
Loso Loaded, SahBabii, Little Simz and more also introduce new releases this week. Stay in the loop of what’s new and hot in hip-hop by scrolling down below.
