On Sunday (Feb. 3), 21 Savage was arrested in Atlanta for allegedly being an illegal immigrant. At the time, an ICE spokesman claimed that the rapper was a U.K. national who'd lied about his persona. Now, the rapper's newly surfaced birth certificate confirms the rapper was indeed born in the U.K.

In a report U.K.-based publication The Daily Mail Online published Monday (Feb. 4), we can see the rapper's birth certificate, which confirms that 21 was born at Newham Hospital in East London. The site says the birth certificate also confirms that he lived in England for 12 years before moving to Atlanta. ICE previously reported that last part to be the case.

The report also revealed that 21, born Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, has twin sisters who still live in the UK and work as dance choreographers named Kyra and Jayda. The twins reportedly called his arrest "fishy," but have deleted any childhood photos with their brother from their social media because, they "don't want him to get deported."

Before his ICE arrest, it had been reported that 21 had actually lived in Dominica before he moved to Atlanta. Obviously, this birth certificate is a direct contradiction to that claim.

21 is currently being held in a federal immigration custody in Georgia and he could very well be deported back to the U.K.

Tons of fellow rappers have been sharing their support for 21 since the news broke, including his previous collaborator Cardi B, Offset and more.
