Today in Tha Wire actor Demetrius Shipp Jr. portrays the most prolific rapper/poet/actors of all time.  The new Tupac Shakur biopic will take theaters by storm tomorrow on what would have been the iconic rappers 46th birthday, Friday June 16. In his breakout role Shipp channels Tupac in the Codeblack Films/Lionsgate production, and highly anticipated motion picture, ALL EYEZ ON ME, the untold story of Tupac Shakur.  Peep the trailers below.

Compton MC, The Game, gave Shipp a thumbs-up on his portrayal of Pac and said ol' boy got skillz.  He promised, “By the time the movie ends, you forget that you weren’t watching Pac.” So obviously Shipp did his thing.  The captivating film starts at the very beginning, giving moviegoers a chance to see how Pac's humble beginnings shaped him into one of the most influential people the world has known.  Tupac Shakur was far more than rapper.  Like DJ Quik says in the video below, he was an activist, a revolutionist, motivational speaker as well.  No telling what more he would have become, had he had to chance to live.  One things for sure in the 25 years he did have, he made a huge impact on the world.

Pac is still making his mark on the world, countless universities offer courses based off his music and poems, The Vatican added Changes to their official MySpace music playlist, Dear Mama was added to The Library of Congress, in April this year he was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the list of goes on-and-on.

Outside of Shipp the All Eyez biopic has an all star cast to include, Walking Dead actress Danai Gurira as the late Afeni Shakur.  It should be noted that Afeni DID NOT approve of this movie by the way.  According to THR, there was a huge dispute over Tupac's "life rights."  Afeni and the Amaru Estate would be sued by film producers, as the conflict raged over various content and other issues the Shakur family had with the biopic.  The drama went on for a few years, until both sides reached an agreement in 2011 and settled.  Once they got the green light to proceed, production of the pic cranked back up and here we are.

Kat Graham stars as Pacs former girlfriend and friend, superstar actress Jada Pinkett Smith, also Jamal Woolard reprises his role as Biggie, along with Hill Harper and more. With all the music Pac left us, of course there will be a movie soundtrack.

The All Eyez On Me soundtrack is going to be epic!  It's a double CD, that is going to be released sometime after the movie premieres.  I'm just not sure of the date.  According to XXL, it's a tribute album featuring artists that Pac never knew he inspired.  These artists, like many, never got a chance to perform with the legendary artist.  Of course that didn't stop them from wanting to honor their idol anyway.  So expect to hear tracks by Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne and many others.

LT Hutton told the DX, every joint on the tribute soundtrack has content.
“You have to stay true to the roots of the West Coast and who he really rocked with,” Hutton said the LP would be "a melting pot of Tupac’s vision. You will not hear on this soundtrack anything that doesn’t have substance. No disrespect to any of those people who do that, but we weren’t about that. Tupac wasn’t about that. It will not be any bullshit mumble rap on this soundtrack.”

Below get more details on what you can expect to hear on the forthcoming LP.
