Today is Tha Wire, formerly Murder Inc.'s first lady is gearing up to make a comeback. Known as the “Princess of Hip Hop and R&B,” Ashanti recently revealed she's going to be returning to the music scene in the very near future. The songstress is currently putting the final touches on the follow-up to her 2014 album, Braveheart.

In addition, she's been busy taking on humanitarian efforts by joining forces with the First Lady, Michelle Obama, and her Let's Move campaign.  Ashanti also joined the Drink Up initiative, whose goal is spreading awareness about the importance of drinking water.   On December 2, she released her new video and song "Let's Go" on iTunes.

Ashanti recently she sat down with HipHollywood Loft and spilled some tea on her new project, her career and longevity in music, how she reconnected with Ja Rule and more. Peep the interview below.

When Ja Rule was released from prison in 2013, after serving a six-year sentence for gun charges, it didn't take long for him and Ashanti to reunite on the music front.  In fact the twosome picked-up right where they left off.  They're even on the road, doing shows with DMX and Biz Markie.  No word as to whether they will expand the gigs into a full blown tour, but I will keep you posted.  So far, looks like they mainly performing on the East Coast for now.

In the meantime, Ashanti is expected to drop her sixth studio album before the end of the year and the lead-off single should arrive sometime this Summer.  Be on the lookout!  For all things entertainment tune into Tha Wire daily.  Get your dose of tea twice a day, every weekday at 12:50 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. on The Peoples Station 107 Jamz.
